Biography

Donovan Kilmartin is a global operations executive who transforms underperforming energy assets and integrates large-scale acquisitions for one of the world's largest energy companies. He is currently leading operational integration for ExxonMobil's $60B acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resources, overseeing the workforce transformation and systems alignment required to double production across the Permian Basin.

At ExxonMobil, he has built a reputation as the leader called for high-stakes turnarounds and crisis situations. He delivered over a billion dollars in cost savings during COVID after being hand-selected by the Upstream Oil and Gas President to lead the enterprise response. He transformed Iraq's largestoil-producing facility, cutting turnaround time from three weeks to one while boosting production in one of the world's most challenging operating environments. He pioneered an innovative pipeline repair solution that restored production after a rupture and became the model replicated across multiple global locations.

His career spans progressively larger operational challenges across four countries and more than thirty international markets. He rose from petroleum engineer and development planner through operational leadership in Iraq and Angola, then to enterprise-wide transformation affecting tens of thousands of employees, before being selected to lead the Pioneer integration.

Donovan combines deep petroleum engineering expertise with financial discipline. He thrives in high-pressure environments and builds teams that execute under difficult conditions.

Donovan holds an MBA from Rice University and a Master of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
